QUALITY AT SENSIBLE PRICES AND CONVENIENT FOR THE SURREY RESEARCH PARK, HOSPITAL AND UNIVERSITY

DIRECTIONS from M25

Come off the M25 at J10 and head south on the A3 for approximately 8 miles.

Leave A3 at the Leisure Centre Exit. Get in to the middle lane on the exit road.

At the end of the exit road turn left and then immediately right at the cross roads following sign A323 Aldershot.

After 0.8 miles (still following signs for Aldershot A323) bear right at the roundabout under the A3 and immediately get in the LEFT hand lane.

Filter LEFT on to the Aldershot Road & head up the hill passing BP Petrol Station on right. Continue straight over the double mini roundabout ahead.

At the next mini roundabout turn LEFT following the sign for Wood Street Village.

Continue straight ahead and after 0.5 miles you will pass the Wood Street Village/Please Drive Carefully sign.

After a further 0.4 miles the road starts to go up hill. Turn LEFT 30 metres after the SCHOOL ZONE DRIVE SLOWLY sign (as you are slowing down you can see the white Little Gables direction sign on your left).

Proceed straight up the lane for a third of a mile taking care as it is single lane and frequently used by dog walkers, horse riders and deer as well as vehicles.

After a couple of minutes take the 1st LEFT, following the white Little Gables direction sign which is directly in front of you. Little Gables is the left of the two houses now in front of you. Drive through the 5 bar gate and park up on your left in the spacious car park.

Welcome to Little Gables

Sorry about the low tech approach but some Satellite Navigation systems are incorrectly programmed and lead you into the village itself rather than to Little Gables

Little Gables Bed & Breakfast - Access Statement

Introduction

Our home is in a peaceful and secluded country setting yet is within three miles of the centre of Guildford and all it has to offer in terms of shops, restaurants and transport links. Reputed to be a former Hunting Lodge we have three guest rooms which are all on the first floor and accessed by staircase. Whilst we aim to meet the access needs of all our guests there are some period features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.

Pre-Arrival

We are located on a country lane approximately 400 metres from the main road. A beautiful and fairly remote country location and not ideally suited to those travelling without a car although there are local footpaths crossing nearby.

Nearest shop is less than half a mile away as is the local pub which does excellent pub meals. We also have an excellent 'gastro pub' in the village.

Nearest bus stop is at the bottom of the lane approximately 400 metres away. In common with many country bus routes service is infrequent.

Guildford Railway Station is just 3 miles away and takes just a few minutes by car/taxi. Taxis are readily available at the station or can be booked via many local operators.

Heathrow Terminal 5 is approximately 28 miles / 30 minutes away dependant on traffic conditions.

We have two cats and are therefore unfortunately unable to accommodate dogs.

Our website www.littlegablesguildford.co.uk provides pictures of our accommodation and further information about the services we provide. You can contact us by telephone, email or text. Please see the "Contact Information" section of this document for further details.

Arrival and Car Parking

Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you to our home.

There is ample private parking in our own car park immediately in front of the house. Whilst the car park is level it has a gravelled surface and a little care needs to be taken when walking from the car. The car park is illuminated automatically during the hours of darkness.

Main Entrance

There are two doors at the front of the house. Please use the door on the right under the black oak tiled archway. The front door is usually locked so to let us know you have arrived please use the door knocker. The entrance leads in to a hallway.

Guest Accommodation – Public Areas

The hallway leads in to a guest sitting room.

The house is long and reasonably narrow and from the hall one room leads in to the next.

All three guest bedrooms are upstairs (please see section "Bedrooms" for more information).

There are 15 steps leading upstairs with two right hand turns. There are hand rails on the stairs on the right hand. The stairs are carpeted.

There is a downstairs toilet which can be made available to guests during the day/evening.

The house is centrally heated throughout but temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit personal requirements.

Guest Sitting Room and Dining Room

Guests are welcome to use the spacious and carpeted sitting room at any time. The sitting room has two sofa's adjacent to or facing the recently installed wood burning stove. A television may be provided!

There are French windows in the guest sitting room which lead in to the extensive gardens and large natural pond.

A selection of local maps, and information are also available.

Breakfast is served in the adjoining dining room which has an oak floor

Bedrooms

All three bedrooms are on the first floor and are carpeted throughout.

Two of the bedrooms have en suite facilities consisting of a shower, wash basin and WC.

The third bedroom has its own adjacent private bathroom consisting of original roll top bath, wash basin and WC.

Tea and coffee facilities and bottled water are provided as is a hairdryer.

Our beds are normally made with feather and down duvets and pillows but synthetic are available on request.

There is a bedside table, either chest of drawers, dressing table or cabinet, chair and clothes hanging facilities in every bedroom.

The is an information folder in every bedroom which contains further information about the house, local facilities, transport links and emergency contacts including local doctors and hospitals.

Bedroom - CLEVES

Cleves is to the right at the top of the stairs through a door and then an arch way. Cleves is on the right through the arch.

There is a 4ft 6in double bed with access on both sides.

Because of the "period" nature of the house the room has two eaves beams which restrict height a little on one side of the room and care has to be taken when moving around the room particularly in the dark. Cleves has an en suite shower room.

The room has opening windows if required for ventilation purposes.

Bedroom - BOLEYN

Boleyn is to the right at the top of the stairs through a door and then an archway. Boleyn is to the left through the archway.

There is a 4ft 6in double bed with access on both sides. Boleyn has an en suite shower room.

The bedroom has opening windows if required for ventilation purposes

Bedroom - ARAGON

Aragon is straight on at the top of the stairs, then the first door on the right.

The room is a larger than average bedroom and easily accommodates a cot or temporary single bed.

There is a 4ft 6in double bed with access on both sides.

The room has opening windows if required for ventilation purposes.

The room has its own adjacent private bathroom.

Gardens

The garden is large with a number of lawns, flower beds and a large natural pond with moor hens, wild ducks and other varied wild life including many dragon flies in the summer. There are two large terraces. Guests are encouraged to enjoy our garden at all times.

The garden can be accessed via the sitting and dining rooms both of which have a small 4" step in to the garden.

There is a terrace immediately outside the sitting and dining rooms. Laid in antique brick it can be a little uneven underfoot so appropriate care must be taken. There are three access points from the terrace to the garden, one of which has one step. The remaining two access points have no steps.

The garden is reasonably flat with only small undulations from one area of garden to another although care should always be taken.

Garden tables and chairs are available for the use of guests.

Additional Information

There is a fire extinguisher in the entrance hall and another at the top of the stairs.

In the event of a fire we will sound a hand horn. Please advise us if you have a hearing impediment and might not hear this.

The building can be evacuated from either the main entrance or the dining and sitting room French Windows. In an emergency there is also an exit via our private lounge which is on the right at the bottom of the stairs.

We do not permit smoking in the house but you may smoke in the garden. Please request an ash tray.

Mobile phone reception in the house is generally good.
